WHO ARE WE?
Ending Life’s Taboo charity was founded, & is run by, the very dynamic Tracy Davies.
Tracy’s son Ross died of malignant melanoma in January 2017, aged just 27yrs. Sadly, Ross’ cancer was highly aggressive; it was 8 weeks from his diagnosis to his death. Ross had requested counselling when he was diagnosed but because there was a waiting list, he never received this.
Ending Life’s Taboo aims to offer rapid access to counselling and support for young people (aged 18-45years) with a terminal illness.
The charity also will provide counselling for their family and carers.
WHAT IS OUR VISION FOR THIS POST?
We want our counsellors to feel a strong sense of pride and purpose in helping young people facing a terminal illness. We want them to feel supported to deliver their work to a high standard. We also hope our counsellors will be an active part of the charity, advising the organisation on how we can develop and refine the service.
There has been an Ending Life’s Taboo counsellor in post at Colchester Hospital since May 2021. She works one day a week.
We now want young patients at Ipswich hospital to also be able to access this service, and are expanding to deliver counselling there, one day a week.
Please see the job description below. If you would like to apply please complete the application form below, and send it to endinglifestaboo@outlook.com by the end of Friday February 11th 2022.
If you have any questions please contact us on the same email address.
We look forward to hearing from you.
